Established in 2013 by Mr. T. Thangavelu, B.Sc. (Ag.), MBA, a retired Additional Director of Agriculture more than 40 years of experience, Vels Nursery Garden is rooted in expertise and passion for horticulture. Originally founded in Manapakkam, Chennai, under the name Hortitech Nursery & Services, the company pioneered terrace garden setups in Chennai and conducted various training programs in partnership with MSME, Government of India, including terrace gardening, nursery management, and mushroom cultivation.
We have successfully established over 800 terrace gardens across Chennai and provided consultancy in landscaping and organic farming. Hortitech has worked on landscape projects for key institutions like airports, Ennore Port, and Indian Oil.
In 2018, Vels Nursery Garden was launched as a retail outlet at Ambedkar Nagar, Manapakkam, offering a wide range of indoor and outdoor plants, flowering plants, pots, organic fertilizers, and bio-pesticides.
Our wholesale division, located in Jeyaram Garden, supplies high-quality organic manures, vermicompost, and cocopeat sourced from across Tamil Nadu. We also procure landscape plants from Rajahmundry, tissue culture plants from Pune, and Archer plants from Trivandrum.
